Declawing is a subject that we feel very strongly about!

Ann-Louise was born in Sweden and it is not allowed to declaw cats there. It is considered animal abuse and the cat owners are forced to save their furniture in other ways. We are pretty sure that United States is the only country that allows declawing.

Because of the way we feel, we do not sell our kittens to anyone that can not promise us that he/she will not declaw their kitten.

Our main questions are:

Why should we change the way God created the cat?

Why do we think we have the right to change another living creature to better fit into our lives?

We have to remember that it is part of the cat's natural behavior to scratch. That is the way they leave their scent and marks their territory. So what we have to do is to give them objects to scratch on. Instead of buying a couch with a textured material that allows the cat to pull on it we recommend that you buy a leather couch or some kind of denim material since that kind of material isn't attractive to the cat. We also recommend a scratching post with sisal rope on it. If you click on the below links it will take you to websites of two companies where we have bought our cat trees from:

If you decide to buy one of their trees make sure you buy one with the sisal rope.

If you do not feel the way we do, please read an essay that Ann-Louise wrote when she took College Writing in school and maybe it will change your mind. Just click at the below link.

We also found a very touching story on the Internet from a technician that works at a veterinarian office. It is a very descriptive story and we have to warn sensitive people. Click on the link below if you want to read the story:
